Thanks guys. I'm sure I'll get over it, cover it with a case and move on.

I was going to add AppleCare+ in a few weeks. Something tells me this wouldn't be covered though.

Hopefully it doesn't hurt the resale value too much. My plan is to sell it and upgrade next year, but who knows maybe I'll pass it on to the wife.

It slid off the couch and bonked a glass table.

Put a decent nick/dent in the black plastic antennae at the top :mad:

First ding/mark always hurts the most I guess. Arg and it's rough and pointy right where I hold it.

I really gotta find a case.

Sorry just venting.

Don't be dumb with your toys. Now go play nice.

Cool Story Bro!

Thanks for creating another pointless thread ... as if we don't already have enough on this friggin forum!

There weren't any stores back then let's get real

I made my point and speak from experience...moving past this thead cuz it doesn't deserve a bump anymore

Apple began opening stores well before iToyz. 2001 to be specific. They were doing so well, that they had the extra money to create the now highly respected Apple Chain of Stores.

And Yes, the store & genius bar experience was much nicer. There were happy customers that didn't try to scam Apple for replacements just because they felt entitled.

Just the facts :)

They inspect your device at the store's genius bar before they sell AppleCare+ now. I upgraded my phone at an AT&T store and wanted to add AC+ later. Had to make a genius appointment at the store. He inspected the phone and wrote a report, then I could purchase the AC+. I guess your ding will be noted in that report and excluded from any future warranty claim.

How does that make apple stores crappy ? There is a completely separate supply of replacement devices and devices for purchase.

It is funny, you are so dishonest or lack any morals that you do not seem to even get the point.

He screwed up, apple and ultimately us shown not have to pay for it.

I never said that it's right to do it. I never returned a device to exchange it due to my mistakes such as damaging the device. Any incidents that happened to me prior to Applecare+ such as volume button being stuck, or some how the antenna bent under my bumper (iPhone 4 for all those incidents), I was honest and took it to the Apple Store and they replaced the device for me at no extra charge.

I think you need to settle down before you go off and judge people. I have Applecare+ on my new iPad and my 4S. I also plan to purchase Applecare for my Macbook Pro before time expires.

I have a tiny, tiny chip in my aluminum on the Smart Cover side. Luckily the SC hides it when it's attached. It definitely caused my scratch though but no sense in exchanging it because other than that my iPad is perfect. Not worth the risk.

Work retail...ANY retail...for even one day and you will be astounded at what the public tries to get away with.

Personally, the stuff I see returned to Costco, for example, just boggles my mind. When I've stood in line to return something, I've seen HEAVILY used vaccuums with FULL bags of dirt; ripped clothing; jeans that are already worn through at the knees...and my personal favorite...FRUIT.

How does somebody return a crate of FRUIT? I'm like..."Seriously?"

I know their return policy is liberal, but come on.

I've seen ppl return Half case of spring water to Costco :D

I like it when it gets old enough to where you don't worry about it anymore. :p
