iOS Crashing When Syncing Multiple Images

We have a ton of images we sync.

possibly 1000

on the iPad mini (non-retina, only 512MB of RAM), it crashes every time because of the memory issue.


we dont compress or decompress the images, because i believe that also would take too much memory to make the app crash


does anyone have any suggestions?
