Well if I can pick up a NIB 2017 MBP (albeit 128gb) for $1100 that’s not bad ! I just don’t have a lot of stuff to store and use the cloud .....

Sounds like a horrible deal...

I can almost guarantee you’ll regret this purchase not only in a month or two time when all the new MacBook/Windows laptops release, but also when you start having keyboard issues.

It baffles me how people can still buy these keyboards - not only did Apple create a repair programme for it, there is a patent with the membrane design used on the 201& models with the patent detailing its purpose of stopping things getting stuck in the keyboard (they knew this since 2016 at the very latest going by the patent date).

Don’t believe the misleading “it only affects a few”, it’s a design issue not a QC issue...

I had one with zero issues. it was stolen and I bought an exact copy. Still with zero issues.

If it has any issues from here until 2022, I will get a new keyboard, speakers and battery and external case.

At this point I'm praying it breaks...

I won’t lie, it’s hard to believe you had “zero” issues, like not even temporary glitches from these keyboards? The design of these just makes it so hard for them to function with zero issues...

If you wait a month, the price should drop further when something new comes out in October.

I’ve had a 2016 bought at launch and also have had zero issues with my keyboard. Just like there are keyboards with problems, there are also keyboards in these models without any problems.
