Is there a way to select a file from the finder and print it to a PDF file without opening it up?

I often have Pages or Numbers files that I want to share with Windows users, and I'd love to ctrl-click or right-click on the file in the Finder and print it to a PDF without opening the file.

thanks!

Have you tried Automator?

Unfortunatly I'm not a Mac right now so I don't know if it is possible but it is the only thing I could think of off the top of my head.

You used to be able to print directly from the Finder, but no longer in OSX. As nearly as I can tell, Automator doesn't provide any method for creating a PDF without opening the owning application and executing the Print command, but you could probably create a workflow in Automator that does the job automatically.
