Hello All,

I'm trying to create a ODBC connection to SQL server from iMac 10.9 to get my macro working. The macro works fine on Windows. Has anybody created a ODBC connection before? Please help. Stuck with this issue for past 3 days. Any inputs on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there,

You can find ODBC Manager in /Applications/Utilities. You'll need to set up a new User or System DSN.

You'll also need a driver of some description. You could use FreeTDS (I think) but personally I find it awkward so I usually wimp out and buy one of ActualTech's drivers:

...I think they're actually user friendlier wrappers round Free TDS.

I'm no Excel expert so I can't explain how to set up Excel, but the above should at least get you a working ODBC connection.

Good luck

Rob

ps. I don't work for Actual Technologies. Honest.
