DeltaMac macrumors G5 Mar 31, 2023 #2 Apparently, you can't make older bootable (for pre-M1 Macs) macOS installers on M-series Macs. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/you-cant-use-an-m1-mac-to-create-bootable-pre-bigsur-macos-installers.2283560/ That would be one of the reasons I keep several older Macs around, just for that purpose.
