Wondering if anyone can help with this? I am using iMovie 6 and want to create a project with default PAL format but don't have this option when creating a new project. It allows selection of DV video format but then automatically defaults to a NTSC session. Does this mean that even if I import PAL clips into the project, once I build a movie by dropping these onto the timeline, the resultant iMovie will be NTSC with lower quality rather than PAL? Also, if I include photo images in the iMovie, are they converted to NTSC? Anyones assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think it matters until you burn the project onto a DVD, at which point iDVD will give you the option of PAL or NTSC. I believe iMovie DV project looks like NTSC, because both dv and NTSC is 30 frames per second, whereas PAL is 24-fps or so (Sorry, I forgot the exact number for PAL).
