Hi all,

I have programmed Automator to automatically copy the latest version of my iMac's Time Machine backup to a different external hard drive.

I got this very odd dialog box attached to my Mac's menu bar (screenshot attached). How can the backup be more that 100% complete?

How many backups have you completed when you received the dialog box.
I had a program do this a long time ago where 1 successful attempt was shown as 100%, the second showed as 200%, 3rd - 300% and so on.

I was under the assumption you could use two different locations without doing anything else other than connecting 2 drives.
I know if I have one Time Machine backup connected and connect another, I get a box asking which location to use or to use both.

You don't need to use automator. Just connect both drives and select them in Time Machine. It will automatically alternate the backups for you between the drives. Your dialog is curious, likely something to do with the automation and not Time Machine.

Thank you both for your replies!

I have not yet completed any backups, I am currently testing the workflow.

I would set my Mac to use both, but the second drive is 750 GB whilst the Time Machine drive is 3 TB and 750 GB is not enough to backup the Mac, unfortunately.

Please see the second sentence above.
