Recently, I've been wanting to make a personal website. I have a problem, though; I have no idea of how to go about making a website. I've never dealt with web design or anything of that sort before. I mean, I made a website in iWeb, and I know some HTML, but thats about as far as I go.

So, what would it take for me to publish an iWeb website to the internet? Would i need to register for a .Mac account, or anything else like that? Would there be large costs to publishing a web site like this?

Thanks for the help, guys.

You pretty much just need to find a place to host the website. .Mac is one such host, but it is very limited in terms of features. You may have web space through your ISP which is included in your monthly fee - most ISPs provide X megs of space at a URL like http://www.yourisp.com/~yourusername. You could also subscribe to a hosting service like Bluehost, Dreamhost, etc. etc. etc. These start at under $10/month, about the same as .Mac give or take but with tons more features, and you can get your own domain name.

Once you have a hosting provider, you would just create the website in iWeb, go to File --> Publish to a Folder, and upload that folder to your host via FTP.
