I want to create an OS Mavericks USB Installation Drive but I cannot find Mavericks anywhere. I currently use Mavericks but I want to update my granddaughter's iMac from OS 10.6.8 to Mavericks. Does anyone know where I can get this free OS?

Why not move the kid's Mac to Yosemite? If it will run Mavericks, it will run Yosemite.

Putting Mavericks on a usb drive

I did not upload Mavericks by using Apps on my 4 year old iMac. My brother had a friend who had a USB drive with Mavericks installed on it. He loaned it to me. Unfortunately, the friend no longer lives in the area and he hasn't given my brother his new address.

I don't want to upgrade to Yosemite because of the problems many users are having at this time. Plus, there's no need to have an OS that streamlines my granddaughter's Apple products since she doesn't have a iPhone or an iPad.

    Thanks, for the suggestions!
    Tom
