hilo, hi
so heres the deal..

i just bought a black mb from friend cause the hdd had failed. i bought a new hdd for it and want to put an os on it. keep in mind i cant use the disk drive either on it. here's the issue..

the only computer i have to do the downloading i need to do is a pc. running windows 7. basically i wanna know if theres a way i can make a bootable jumpdrive for the mb using my pc to do so.

this is by far the hardest thing i have had to look up.. every other scenario using these words would come up except what i need.

thanks for any help you guys can provide.

ps: im new to this site and i DID look for this..

My MBP will boot off the same Ubuntu USB stick I made on a Linux or Windows, and will also boot on a PC.

I don't know of any reason why you can't.

It would be easier on a Mac, but you should be able to do it on a PC.

The first step is to get a copy of the OS that you wish to install.

If you don't have a copy of the OS, then for $29 you can buy a bootable usb drive from Apple with the OS install files already on it. That would be the easy way.
