Creating floating 3D text in "Fringe"?

anyone know how to do this? can it be done in livetype? I'm still pretty new to FCE 4 and havn't really learned livetype yet.

The text is most likely made in a 3D app and then composted using something like After Effects that is capable of working in 3D space.

EDIT: You might be able to do something similar using Motion

Yea...your not going to be able to do this in livetype.
