creating icon

I am getting a new external harddrive and i would like to create an icon of it. I was wondering if there is a way to create an icon form an image of the harddrive...If so how do i go about doing this? thanks so much

Take a pic of it, remove the background with an app like Photoshop, then use an app like Iconographer to make an icon out of it. You might have to play around with the alpha channel a little to get perfect results.
