That is an excellent guide and would have worked had I had a large enough USB drive. Needs to be at least 11GB so only a 16GB USB drive will suffice. Said my 8GB drive needed 3 more GBs.

Edit: Just got it to work with a 32GB SD card. Gonna be slow but way better than having my system out of commission for an hour or so. Can continue to use it while this downloads and installs. Again, great guide.

Strange, I've currently got an 8GB stick acting as an install drive and according to it I could squeeze it onto a 4GB stick (Used: 3,802,849,280 bytes (3.8 GB on disk), Available: 4.22 GB, Capacity: 8.02GB).

I did a clean install of lion successfully by buying the aforementioned DMG file on to a blank DVD.

There was no option to do a secure erase like there was in the SL installer :(

If you don't have recovery partition then download "Lion Recovery Disk Assistant" from apple http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1433 then follow this instruction to create it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4848. Once you boot from it will let you do the Secure Erase of other partitions in its Disk Utility.
