creative vado and imovie 09

Hello, can anyone tell me how to import movies made with a creative vado in to imovie 09 please. The file types made by the vado are avi but cant be imported by imovie as they are greyed out.

Try MPEG Streamclip to transcode those .avi files to a .mov (CMD+E - QuickTime) file using the Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC). You can also make batch conversions with it (CMD+B).
Your audio should also be Uncompressed.

Thanks, I will try this method. I have been "playing" with streamclip but whatever I made played back in a black screen with no sound. We'll see what happens.

Worked a treat thanks a lot.
Any dea what I can do with footage mage by my Panasonic camera of which the files are called .mts??? To play in imovie?
