Yeah, that would be a good idea. They are eventually going to run the charge through and if you don't have the money, they will cancel your service.

Definitely wait until the charge hits your account, it'll happen when you least expect it.

The charge will take place once your phone ships. Who knows when that will happen for anyone at this point though 😡

I received my phone on Friday, the 14th. I still haven't been charged, never saw a hold, nothing at all.

I pre-ordered from AT&T on the 7th. All week the funds were taken out of my available credit. As of yesterday, the funds had been restored and its like that transaction never occurred. There is no record of any AT&T transaction for an iPhone 4S. Would sure be nice if it stayed like this. 😀

Same here... I am using my phone and still dont see a charge but there is a hold for the dollar amount. It's been on hold since October 7th

There were a couple of times when I ordered apple products from apple website and they did not charge me until I almost received the items.

Some merchants also charge you later.

Ha, ha, and I was charged twice from ATT for one phone. It all evens out. Now I have to dispute a $700 charge with my bank. 🙁

Its strange because when i preordered two phones on the 7 there was 1 pending charge on my card and not for the other one. Then on delivery day last friday the pending charge was gone and now nothing 4 days after receiving the phone.

I pre-ordered mine through AT&T and was charged then for the phone. Then received my 4S on the 14th and the funds were back in my account a day or two later and still haven't been charged for it.
