I pre-ordered an 11 Pro Max for my wife and I and charges dropped today on my Visa. We're on the Upgrade Program.

On the receipt after ordering it says "Initial Amount Due" is $187.08, which includes estimated tax ($126.70) and 1st month's payment ($60.33).

The charge that dropped on my Visa today however was $109.29.

What's with the weird number? I can't figure where that math is coming from.

I had $106.17 charged this morning, that is the tax due. The statement that was sent said $149.82 will be charged. No clue. I'm sure a few different charges will drop off before friday.

Happens every year. When you first pre-order they usually do a pre-authorization charge to make sure there are funds in your account or credits available to use. After few days those gets dropped. However they will be back as an actual charge. Likely this week.

I’ve had this happen a few times with Apple. All is good. Just make sure the funds are there and you will be charged sometime by Saturday even if you get the phone on Friday.

Simple, the estimated tax figure is just that, an estimate. It seems to use a rate of about 11.7% which is pretty high, so your local rate is probably lower .
