credit card swipe (like SQUARE) for Australia usage

Anyone know when Australia will have a credit card swipe for ipod, ipad like Square in the US? Any developers out there get onto it! Huge market..we're in need! Or can someone partner up with them and expand...

Doubt it will as it doesn't support chip and pin, I don't even sign the back of my cards anymore!

Oh that would be a shame. I would hope that they would make it chip and pin compatible if it was to come over to the UK
