Where I work, we are starting a think tank type get together once a month or so where 10-20 people will have a certain fun, team building exercise we can do to engage our brains in different thinking strategies.

Do you guys know of anything similar, or any place that has some ideas of activities we could do?

    Thank you

    A few resources

I work with youth and try and do various activities to challenge their thinking. A few fun websites that you can share with the group to 'exercise' their brains before meetings perhaps:
    Left or Right Brained
    Brainpop/Brain Games(very young)

The following link is a great conversation starter and can be pretty telling about individuals. Draw a Square ◼, Rectangle ▄, Triangle ▲, Circle ● and finally a Squigge ⌇on a whiteboard. Ask everyone without talking to choose the symbol that speaks to them and merely draw it on the back of some scrap paper. Then go through the below link and see what develops
    What Shape is Your Personality

Regarding Critical Thinking games and Team Building check these sites out:

    1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, insert the giraffe, and close the door.

This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

    2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Did you say, "Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the door"?

    Wrong answer.

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.

    3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals attend except one. Which animal does not attend

Correct Answer: The elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. You just put him in there. This tests your memory.

OK, even if you didn't answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

    4. There is a river you must cross but it is inhabited by crocodiles. How do you manage it?

Correct Answer: You swim across. All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Meeting. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

According to Andersen Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the professionals they tested got all questions wrong. But many preschoolers got several correct answers. Andersen Consulting says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four-year-old.

Well, the second question's explanation is stupid, because if you can fit a giraffe in a refrigerator there is no reason you can't also put an elephant in it at the same time.

And it's worded poorly, to convey that it is indeed the same refrigerator, and not another one.

The correct sentence should read "How do you put an elephant into the refrigerator."
