moved the dot, originally it was dead centred in terms of the image but i understand how it looked a bit off, should have fixed that now.

got rid of the small text, don't need it, keeping the dot though because that is what distinguishes (sp) from other emdee's that i've found.

I think you're making strides in the right direction! Much more pleasing to the eye now for me.:)

I think it looks pretty good, but I wouldn't read that as saying 'm-dot-d'. I'd just see it as MD. The second one definitely looks better - much cleaner.

I'd do away with the dot, or if you want it, find some way to include it that makes it more evident what it is.

Question, why should one use illustrator over photoshop for something like this?

Because a photoshop file can only be enlarged so far but has a way bigger filesize and it is also a real pain to design logos in Photoshop. Freehand or Illustrator are made for logo creation and files from these apps result in filesizes in the low KB range i.e. 20kb instead of 5mb for photoshop, while remaining infinitely scaleable and much easier to edit.

Just a side note but how do you make illustrator not gobble up stuff you draw next something else? For example if you are writing something (wacom tablet) and you make one letter close to another they will snap together as one, it seems that illustrator keeps the previous element selected. If that makes any sense. Please PM me the answer so as not to hijack this thread anymore than I already have.

I dont know much about illustrator I use Freehand. But I do find Illustrator very frustrating with the problem you mentioned. Try subselecting stuff.

/end hijack

I made this pdf for one of my clients to explain why illustrator (vector) artwork is better for type/logos than photoshop.
