Cropped photo editing bug

Steps to produce:

Open a photo in the photos app, crop it and save it. Go to edit the photo again, the quality drops substantially while it is in edit mode. Happens on both my iPhone 6 and iPad Air on iOS 8.0.2. Anyone else too?
