Hello All, Later this year a friend and I will head out on an extended cross country road trip. We'll be leaving from NJ, the route will depend on the number of places to see in relation to the weather. The timeline is up in the air, probably around one month. We'll be doing a combination of car camping and crashing here and there. The focus of it will be mostly outdoors and physical stuff to make up for all the time stuck in the car. Most of the south and midwest is unexplored to us. Ok, so we know the big ones -- Grand Canyon, Yosemite, etc -- but would like to hear advice on other must-see places, great outdoors, interesting oddities and so on. I'd also like to look into doing a little bit of caving and light backcountry backpacking (3 days tops) if anyone has tips on those. We will be getting a national parks pass and a few permits. If you don't have any advice on places to see or things to do, feel free to give us other road-trip tips, budgeting advice etc. Obligatory Mac relationship -- and I'll probably take my iPad along. Thanks!
