I have been trying Crossover since version 7. It never seemed to work very well for EverQuest 2, the biggest reason I wanted to use it.

Well, with version 10 things look a lot better. I haven't spent much time with it yet, but what I have there are major improvements on speed and rendering.

Check it out. Its worth the 7 day trial and see if it fits your needs. I think it is going to fit mine.

For I think 1 more day this code "NEWVERSION" will get you 1/2 off so its only $20. That is for either Crossover or Crossover games.

Plus they have a new feature that will set up your installs for you if they support the game, installs all the prereqs, etc. Very nice. Just go to the page for the game (EQ2 for example): and click the Install with Crosstie and it starts the install.

I tried it, but it didn't work for me. The best way to play games for Windows still is... to play them in Windows.

easiest.. highest performance... sure... if you don't mind losing access to your whole computer and having to run Windows only just to play a game.... and having to buy windows and split your hard drive up, which is more of a pain if you have a smaller SSD.

I have some Wineskin Engines available using the Crossover 10 wine source too :) Wineskin is more do it yourself though... if you want super easy to use, go with Crossover.
