I really think when I choose better performance, crossover games still uses the 9400M because I have a 9600M gt 512MB video card in my unibody macbook pro but there is no difference between the 2 in framerates... can anyone clarify this?'

thanks!

I don't think CrossOver has the driver implementation to choose the video card chosen by the OS.

Since CrossOver runs in OS X, OS X would logout and login back in order to switch between the two GHX cards. If you select the 9600 (in System Preferences) and the MBP does the required logout routine; then you, and therefore, CrossOVer are running under the 9600. If you do not select the 9600 and no logout routine is performed; then yes, CrossOver (and OS X for that matter) is still using the 9400.

I haven't experience with Crossover Games, as in it epic failed when I tried it. But I'd venture to guess it's not the greatest performance you can get out of your graphics card.

Bootcamp isnt all the terrible.

You jumped to that conclusion by running a game in CrossOver....software that is emulating Windows?

Come on, use your head. If you want full performance, you need to install Windows via Boot Camp.

Also since crossover can't seem to get past direct x 7.1 performance, its natural that the 9400 is more chip then you need at the moment.

Crossover has limited DX 9.0c and nearly perfect DX 8.x support. Don't know where you got DX 7.1 from.
