Spent a lot of time gaming on the Mac going back to the very first Macs. Lots of favorites over the years. I'll throw them some money.

It doesn’t make sense why Jobs didn’t support gaming; it’s not like it would have cost the company a lot in terms of financial investment to do so.

I think it's because the bulky, noisy hardware required for mid-top tier gaming machines clash with the sleek minimalism Apple always strives for with their computers. That, and the fact that Macs are envisioned as the computer Steve Jobs would want to use, and he never had much interest in gaming.

Gaming has always been synonymous with computers from the very beginning. Even if all you had was a command line, someone would make a text adventure or numbers game or pong! Gaming and entertainment are vital human needs. It was never wise to ignore this. Arguably gaming is what built Microsoft!

Now, my brother bought his first non-Mac. A compact mATX high performance gaming machine with GTX 980 Ti. It's completely silent and amazing not to mention discreet and relatively attractive. I have a MacBook Pro because Apple still makes the best laptops (MagSafe and ForceTouch) but I boot into Windows if I ever want to play anything because performance is always so much better and with fewer bugs ON THE SAME HARDWARE, not to mention cheaper prices.

Sadly, I don't know anyone that makes Mac exclusive games anymore.

Last Mac-related pledge I did was for the (stretch goal) of Carmageddon:Reincarnation Mac/Linux version. That was reached about four years ago. Still, there is not a word about the Mac version. When I asked Kickstarter about it, they basically explained politely it's not their business and pointed me to Stainless Games, who say they first want to finish the PC version. Which is odd since they have declared it final last year. Meanwhile they announced a new, Carmageddon based game for two new platforms to come out this year. Playstation 4 and Xbox One both didn't even exist yet in 2012.

Of course, this guy Moss can't help all that, but of the projects I've backed, too many were disappointing, if they ever materialized at all. I'm done backing a new CD for that cool Indie band that, once backed, is delayed for 2 extra years.

Some of my early favorites were Maze Wars, Bolo, Spectre, Strategic Conquest and Shuffle Puck. As you can tell I liked the multi-player networked games.

Bolo or bust. I'm trying to think of an earlier networked game... they existed (was that Star Trek like game ever networked?), but perhaps not one quite as fluid and as much fun.

Those black and white games on the original Macintosh had a very unique taste to them.

Steve Jobs never cared for gaming, go back and history and see for yourself. I have seen almost all his keynotes since '96. Gaming barely comes up, and Apple gaming hardware was always more expensive and less in spec. compared to PC.

Yup. In my interactions way back when with people from Apple at GDC, there were individuals in the field who wanted to support gaming on the PowerPC Macs, especially since Microsoft had come out with DirectX and all the developers were flocking to it, but it was pretty clear they weren't getting anything but token support (at best) from their higher ups in Cupertino.
