Not to be off topic, but while we talk about it..

Let's clear one thing up: Good CRTs have a better looking picture than LCDs.
But I would like to clear up on thing... At least in terms of an immediate human threat, LCDs are vastly more environmentally friendly than CRTs. There is one major issue that exists with CRTs which is the entire reason for switching to more expensive flat panel technology...
EXPOSURE TO %%%RADIATION%%%
Two types of radiation: XRAY and EMF.
Flatpanels produce no x-rays and ultra low EMF (only related to the backlight transformer).
XRAYS won't likely rot your eyes.. I was an 80s child who has spent tens of thousands of hours in front of the glass tube, so I can say it didn't "ruin my eyesight", but they can cause cancer, as well as EMF.. and there are more shocking problems which are lesser known but scienfically proven such as ** *
MERCURY POISIONING * ** ... Not just the mercury in the tube itself when its disposed, BUT xrays will rot amalgam fillings in your teeth, producing abnormally high mercury ingestion levels which poison your body and cause diseases such as fibro-mialgia, alziehmers, and others..
The highly questionable health impact of CRTs is the fundamental reason why I ripped them out of my iMacs and reengineered them with LCD panels (which was quite! a project...)
