That sucks, not surprised though because as of right now superbiiz.com is the only online retailer that has the c400 for sale....well to my knowledge anyway. Can't wait to see how much better performance this drive will offer over my current Intel 120GB x25m.

Yes 2 orders and two failures one with e-bay same seller BTW and one with superbliz and they said they had them in stock both sources. I'm a little upset I am running a big workshop starting the 2nd and I wanted to get something before than. Whoever is first may just get my money

Lol. From your sig, it seems like you already have a SSD. This will be my first. =P Few more days won't be too bad. =)

I've read both sides of the OWC /OCZ issue. Despite having used OCZ products for years in all my PC builds, I think they got caught with their pants down. Perhaps it's the recent 25nm debacle, but I take everything they say with a grain of salt now.

Then again, with the hibernation probs the Sandforce drives have, the lack of a proper firmware update method for Macs, the high failure rate, and the fact TRIM can now be enabled in OSX.. I don't see any reason to buy a Sandforce drive now.

very politically charged article, full of spin and completely taken out of context!

OCZ where using spec-tek chips (hence the S), the build quality was AL -
full spec with tighter requirements

see ocz's reply
here

i read ocz's chinese reply days ago, just different story, but all lies. friend is holding a ocz ssd wihich using T2 chips.(he got it back from Taiwan.) coz i saw it, i dont trust ocz any more.

ps. watch the video on my link, thats 100% NOT T1 chips.

I am having trouble believing OCZ as well. Like another user said on that thread, if there is not a lawsuit filed by OCZ very soon, then they must be guilty, right?

brentsg, has it been confirmed that TRIM works on all drives?

edit.... (wrong thread lol)

im by no way pro ocz / anti owc!

after-all i own an owc ssd! I made a calculated decision to purchase an owc ssd, as i believed, back in the pre-trim era, it was the best sata-2 ssd available -in terms of product/ support/ reliability.

Over on the ocz forums there is very good support. Yes, the whole transition to 25nm was a complete farce... hope ocz have learnt their lesson! However, many ppl, myself included have very high expectations for the vertex 3 - hope ocz can deliver!

Agree, its awful how sandforce has been working on a mac updater for their firmware for how many months now? As stated in another thread, owc portrays itself as a mac-orientated company, they should have tried harder with sandforce, to develop a osx-firmware updater.

I get the feeling sandforce has washed it's hands of sf-1200/1500 drives and placed all it's efforts on the SF2000 series

Finally, with trim being enabled, the c400/intel G3s are beginning to sound a little more tempting.

I will sit tight till the sata-3 debacle has been resolved and apple recognises sata-3 and begins providing support.

OS owc drives in the uk are very rare - so i am sure i could sell it in a month or two, once we know the score with these new drives.
