Can someone help me out please? I ordered 32 Gb Crucial memory sticks for my nMP, which is due to arrive tomorrow. When I ordered, I made sure it specifically said 1866 MHz ECC RAM.

Today, the RAM sticks arrived and the packaging does not state that the RAM sticks are ECC Ram. Nor does it say ECC on the RAM sticks either. Did Amazon send me the wrong item?

Maybe look up the part number on Crucial's site and see what it says?

IIRC, Memtest will report whether or not your RAM is ECC and whether or not there are ECC errors, but it's been a while since I've done that.

Yes, you are forgetting that you already have to purchase memory from Apple. The $400 for the option is _extra_ over the 16GB original. If you configure the lower standard nMP, then 32GB is $500 (because that model is standard with less (expensive) RAM. It's simple math to show that the 4GB chips that Apple provides are $100 each.
So, the 32GB option from Apple is actually $800 !

And, the Crucial RAM uses 16GB sticks, which are more expensive, per stick.

I went ahead and contacted Crucial Tech support. They were able to verify that it is indeed ECC RAM. I forgot to post a link in my original post:

Since I ordered, I noticed Amazon's title of the item no longer specifies that it is ECC RAM. However, it does specify it in the item description.

I ordered the stock mac pro and bought 2 - 16Gb sticks for a few $ less than what Apple charges for 4 - 8Gb sticks. This will leave me with 2 open slots for expansion to 64Gb if I decide to upgrade in the future. By purchasing the stock nMP, rather than a customized one, delivery was a lot faster too.

Are those the same as the 32GB sticks listed on Crucial's website?

The Amazon page shows part # CT2K16G3R186DM, which is not the same as the Crucial website's part # CT5019230.
