I'm about to order a 13" MacBook Pro.

I'm undecided as to get the Apple 128GB SSD or the Crucial 128GB SSD.

The cost is the same for me.

Any opinions? Anyone got the Crucial?

Well, I've always used crucial memory and its always been top notch.

Knowing nothing about their SSDs, there's a couple of questions.
    1. Does boot camp work with this model - I recall that at one point (still?) that some SSDs don't work with bootcamp.

2.Track record, how are people reporting on this model, is its fairly defect free, how's the speed.

    3. What manufacturers does apple buy their SSDs from? Clearly apple does not make their own, just like they don't make their own hard drives. Knowing which companies they buy from, you'll be able to discern whether the crucial SSD is > the apple supplied model.

All in all, I've always thought that crucial memory was the best in the market and so given their track record, I'd probably lean towards buying from them over some other no-name company. Not sure how that stacks up to intel's SSD though.

Crucial's SSD is very fast one. I think Apple uses Samsung's SSDs which are good too but not as fast as Crucial's.

What about the Crosair 128GB SSD which seems quite a bit cheapr than the Crucial?

Just looking at the specs the Corsair seems a lot slower than the Crucial:

    - Read Speed of 90MB/s
    - Write Speed of 70MB/s

    vs.

    250MB/s READ, 190MB/s WRITE

I just saw the thread about Crucial SSDs in Macs and now I can say, don't buy them. You saw it as well.

Buy Intel or OCZ SSD, they will work
