So, at home I hook my powerbook to my 20.5 Dell FP.

When I'm working in PS CS2, my color settings must be off, because when I save for web the true color appears, but not on my canvas. I know this color I've used in my example is maroon, but it appears to be a grey orange on my canvas. The minute I go to save for web, it appears in the true color.

Has anyone experianced this before? I've tried playing with the color settings when creating a new document.

I'm using "Adobe RGB (1998) D65 WP 2.2 Gamma", but I've tried almost all of the rest.

Any suggestions?

Check your working space. If you're working in AdobeRGB and then convert to sRGB it'll look different on your monitor.

Go to edit: color settings and look at what your working space is. If it's sRGB, make sure you're not importing your files in AdobeRGB.

Also, in the color settings control, make sure your display settings are correct. This may all be stuff you already know but that's my input.
