CS4 camera raw problem

I am finding the new selective adjustment brush in CS4 raw to be so slow as to be unusable at times. I am using a new unibody 15in 2.4 with 4 gigs of ram. I have the cache for raw set at 20g. Can anybody offer any solutions?
