CSS over flash?

Is it possible to have a flash background to a div, or a div over the top of flash?

I want to have a swirling pattern over behind a CSS / text menu

use z-index and some floats maybe?

Looks like with a bit of a fiddle you can do it - although I don't know how successful it will be with all the different browsers
