ctrl click doesnt work after picking up my MB from genius bar

I just picked up my MacBook from the genius bar because I had the case replaced. Now I cannot ctrl click and my background is stuck and cannot be changed. Some icons from the dock are missing as well. Is there a fix for this?

drag the icons from the applications folder to the dock?
