I've never played Ascendancy but it looks like my sort of game; I'll probably buy it.

I hope that we see more and more of these ports of old games, there must be a goldmine of good PC titles to be tapped. The one I'd really like to see on the iPad is Homeworld.

I wish they would make a proper dawn ofmdiscovery game but i hewr the iphone trading version is not bad. But port the wii version to ipad please. Also, have any of you tried viking lords? Its a war game that is based on some board game and exclusivr to ipad. Also how is distant star?

Ascendancy available now from the app store...

Oh yes...can't wait to download and give it a try!

Unfortunately I need to update to the 4.2 software before I can.

Been waiting for this one with great anticipation.

AMAZING news.

I was holding off the purchase of the iPad until this game. It won't run on my original iPhone unfortunately. Now Apple can't release iPad 2 fast enough.:D

There was a game for the Amiga called K-240 that I absolutely loved and this looks a little similar- deffo gonna give this a try.

Cheers!

Hello from Logic Factory

This is just a note to let you all know that we are thrilled to have Ascendancy out on the market and appreciate the interest you have shown on these forums.

We are listening and want to let you know that Ascendancy will be evolving from here.

Thanks, and all the best.

Dear devs! I think you know what this great game means to some of us and on behalf of these gamers I thank you for your work from the bottom of my heart. You have to know you are making something that others are not - creating HIGH quality and long gaming experiances on the iPad.

There are hardly any games on iOs of Ascendancy's magnitude. That is why iOS has yet to be considered a serious gaming platform. But with Logic Factory on board it's one step closer.

Very good game, I have fond memories of playing it back in the day. Downloaded it yesterday for the iPad and have been playing it a lot.

I think my only criticism so far is that the interface is a bit... tricky to learn. Some screens were a total mystery without using the help function, and in places tapping something maybe didn't do what was expected.

It would be great to be able to interact with items on the system/star/colony map directly rather than having to select something then tap it again at the bottom of the screen. Some form of menu popup would be perfect here.

Also I found the screens for building colonies and ships convoluted. Partly for the reason above, with things taking perhaps a few more taps than they should, but also the lack of any kind of text labels just slows things down.

I'm not knocking the game itself, the logic factory have done an excellent job, but there are a few interface tweaks that would certainly help new players really get into the game.

Why cant anyone make or port s pc style wargame like hearts of iron now.

I remember Ascendancy as a pretty but steaming pile of buggy crap.

I would kill for a Master of Orion (1) release though.

Got the game recently, but it has a lot of interface issues, as in its clumsy at times.
