iPhone Curating photos seems to be hanging

Hi, Public Beta 7 on an iPhone 7 Plug . . . Photos app . . . Curating best photos . . . composing layout . . . analyzing scenes . . . gathering favorites etc . . . my phone has been connected to power and the progress bar has not moved all day, just seems to be stuck doing this - anyone else? and did it get to the point where it progressed or do you think mine has just hung? restarted photos app and it's still the same

How many photos do you have? Took roughly a day on the Xs for 1,2k photos here.

It also only seems to do it when your phone is locked for a while and hooked up to a charger, so you checking in on it can delay the curation. There is also a chance that your phone simply takes a while to curate due to no dedicated neural engine to offload tasks to.

I only have 53,000 photos in my iCloud (with optimize iPhone storage ticked)

People with large photo libraries (I'd class 53000 photos as large) are having issues whether on iOS or MacOS (or iCloud for that matter). Photos isn't working well, and the Apple beta release notes haven't changed since the first beta, and say "yeah, we know it's crap, we're playing with your photo library hahaha". Well, maybe I exaggerate

photos app seems bugged to me since beta 1 , its the same on beta 8 with no signs of improvement

Guess it‘s absolutely normal that it takes a few days. Like I said, it took a day to curate 1,2k images on my Xs.

I only have 1900 photos, stuck in progress too. It's been like that for weeks ever since I installed beta1...
