Hi friends.

Yesterday I restored my iPad and noticed something that I found very curious, and I took that check to my iPhone, where I checked that the same thing was happening.
(It is not related to the restoration. Only that I made a clean installation and I had to start ordering dozens of apps, and that's when I noticed it)

When you want to add an application to an already created box/folder, if you do it by dragging on either side, up or down it does it perfectly, however, if you try to drag the application entering through the lower right corner of the box (whas to go through the corner is your finger to drag the icon, not the icon itself), the box bounces to the right, while if you do it by entering through the lower left area, it adds it directly. I invite you to do the test and tell me.

Knowing Apple that leaves nothing to chance, I would like to know the explanation for this.

I'll leave you a video in case I didn't know how to explain myself well.

Can you confirm if it happens to you too? I doubt that it is a "bug" of two different devices, I imagine that it will be the operation of the system itself. THANK YOU.

Probably to make it faster to organize for people that know these nuances. There are a lot of little features like that, like double tapping shift for caps lock, or shake-to-undo if an app gets moved to the wrong place accidentally in jiggle mode.

Neat! I’ll have to remember this tip next time I’m rearranging… occasionally it’ll want to stack instead of insert.

It's probably a friend. Could you confirm on your devices if it happens to you too? Thank you

I'm glad it helped you. As I asked the partner, could you confirm that it also happens on your device? Thank you.

To me, it seems that "from a corner" (any corner) it tends to displace, and "from an edge" (any edge, top/bottom/side) it tends to overlay for a folder.

I agree with this. It seems the folder moves if you slide over it by the corner or it will add the app to the folder if you do it from the side.

Thanks for your answer.

In the lower left corner as well?

I noticed the same and it drives me crazy, because I was never to figure out a logic. Especially when I need to reorganize apps across different screens which are all full of icons, I've had it happen more than once that it didn't go as expected, and it threw my whole layout off. Super annoying.

Exactly. It was at that moment that I realized. I restored the iPad and I had to sort the dozens of applications that I have, and when I dragged them the drawer it moved and I found it very annoying, until I realized that it was if I dragged the new application through the corner of the icon. Curious but very very absurd. Already knowing it, at least, I save myself new anger LOL

I add a curiosity: Trying it on my wife's phone, an IPHONE 11, having the screen much more response time and being slow, there if it can be done through the corner, because it takes a couple of seconds from the time you pass the icon until it detects that it is on the folder.

Curious!
