Going for the preorder as always and waking up at 3am Friday morning. I'm curious how long it will take for the iPhone 8 dates to slip back?
Yeah I'm not taking any chances either. I'll do the classic wake up, order and go back to sleep. Not taking any chances. I'll wake up 1:50 AM Central and prepare myself for 2:01 AM Central (12:01 AM PST, since I'm 2 hours ahead of them).
That's if they even slip. Should be a painless preorder then for me since I'm going for the 8+.
This is the first time that Apple is releasing a sim-free model on launch. Previously would have been later. As mentioned, the 8/8+ ship dates shouldn't be too bad unlike last year's 7+ (especially the Jet Black and Matte Black models). One thing I noticed is on the 15th you'll be able to pre-order a SIM Unlocked model. Correct me if I'm wrong, but last year I believe they staggered the carrier-free iPhone 7/7+'s a little bit after to meet the high demand.
So maybe that's indication on how much stock they have available? Or even their expectations on demands for tomorrow's preorder.
In any case, I too will be up and ready to preorder my iPhone 8+ at 12:01AM. Coming from a 6S+ here, so I'm pretty excited
think the iPhone X will ship sim free? As of right now it says it won’t but could it possibly be updated, say, the day before preorders begin? As mentioned, the 8/8+ ship dates shouldn't be too bad unlike last year's 7+ (especially the Jet Black and Matte Black models). I think Apple wants the press from selling out of iPhones, so they will keep production low enough that it will slip relatively quickly. Unless they quickly come out with some very good sales numbers showing that they just manufactured a lot more than in previous years the shipping date not slipping will be seen as a failure.
The marketing from selling out helps them to be successful, I don't know where you get that limiting production keeps them from being successful.Yes Apple is known for deliberately keeping production low to piss off their customers. That is what keeps them from being successful!
Poor Apple.
