So I have a current Gen mini with this Sony HTCT100 Sound Bar with Sub-Woofer. I have the video working no problem and I purchased a miniTOSlink to TOSlink cable to run the sound to the HTCT1000. Issue is I'm not getting any sound out of it.

I'm going from Mini > Mini-DP > HDMI > HTCT1000(DVD or BD HDMI port) for Video, the MiniTOSlink to TOSlink cable to the DVD or BD Digital Audio IN port for sound.

On the HTCT1000 there is a TV Audio in RCA ports that the sound can go through but you have to switch to the input on the HTCT1000 and I lose video.

So I know the sound works and I know the video works I just can't get them to work together.

I honestly don't know what I'm missing in the middle, so was curious if someone had a similar setup or the same and had any advice on how to hook it up.

I've seen posts saying they "have it all hooked up" but don't explain HOW its hooked up. Let me know if anyone has any similar experience. Thanks.

I did figure out what my issue was, kinda disappointed but it still works.

On the Sony HTCT100 if you have an HDMI cable going into the "DVD" channel it disables the Optical Audio port tied to the "DVD" channel cause it assumes when you have your HDMI cable plugged in you have sound coming through it and you don't need the optical cable port. If I unplugged the HDMI cable and just left the optical cable in I would get sound.

So as a 'work around', I am just going DVI>HDMI to the tv for video and headphone jack to RCA > TV for sound and then going OUT of the TV for audio to the Sony unit. Works fine for now.

I'm going to pick up one of these http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10114&cs_id=1011405&p_id=5369&seq=1&format=2 so I can get the digital audio.

Kinda disappointed the Sony unit did this but it still works with a little fudging.
