I don't get why any iPhone 4 owners will not get a case just for the fact that it's free. What else can you do?

I am not a current iPhone 4 owner, but I will be when the white version is released soon. I normally don't like cases on any of my devices, but I do own one for my 3GS that I got from GDGT.com to support their website, and I do put it on from time to time.

that being said, I think I will accept a case from Apple just so that I can have the option to put on if I feel the need to, but I know I won't always keep it on.

I already got a green one so no point in not getting a free refund on it.

I went into an Apple store yesterday to purchase a bumper but they had been taken off the shelves.

They won't SELL me one but they will GIVE me one.

Hmmm, what a difficult choice.

Nothing else I can do....

I'll take the case/bumper as it's the only option that they offer me [and before you say take it back - i've been using iPhone since v.1 and I don't want another phone - I just want an iPhone that does not have this issue - my previous phone didn't do this, why should I accept that my brand new one does?]. I would rather have had them recall and fix the phone with some sort of invisible covering on the steel, but I guess this will have to do. I don't really want to cover up my phone with a crappy case [never had too before].

Lastly, if in September or sooner they bring out a revised model which fixes this issue, I will be seriously pissed off!

Ill be accepting a free one. They were extortionately overpriced as they were. It costs them about a dollar to produce (about £0.65 in UK) and £25 to buy. Its not often you get something for nothing in this world, and this time its something of value.
Dont stare a gift horse in the mouth

No I will not take it.... I have no issues and I have integrity.
it's FREE why wouldn't I except a free hand out? I will be looking at the cases more then the bumpers though
Isn't this what a lot of people are complaining about in America? Those getting a "free" handout?

Funny part is there is no such thing as a "free" anything. The cost will be passed onto the consumer.

I think the people who say they wont take one because they dont need it are talking complete Bollocks IMO.

Anyone with half a brain cell will take something for free if its worth £25. Even if you dont "need" it you get it free anyway... it does you no harm.. and you could possibly give it to someone you know or sell it on ebay then use the money to get something else instead..... like an itunes gift voucher or something.

So thats my opinion I think 99% of people who say they wont accept a free thing are talking bollocks.

And if someone replies and says im wrong... I dont care its my opinion so therefor is neither wrong or right....

why would you not use a case? don't you want your phone to last? I have a case already but I'll def look and see what they have to offer.. my phone works fine but it would be nice to have options

Do you have to prove that you have the antenna issue to get a free bumper?
Yes, there will be a left handed and right handed line at the Apple stores. You will need to make an appointment. There will be a case specialist at every store who will give you the "hand-test" before distributing the case to you. These people will be specially hired. Look in your local newspaper for an application for the hand job at Apple. The test will include 4 positions. Left handed, right handed, left handed with a 1 legged stand facing east and right handed with both feet off the ground. If you pass 2 of the 4 tests you will be issued a case.

Well you can have an opinion and still be wrong. Just because I choose not to take advantage of apple by accepting something I don't need, doesn't mean I'm talking complete Bollocks. It means my integrity is worth more to me than picking up a free bumper. Not every one in the world is looking for something for nothing. Plus it's not "free". Yes, you're not paying anything for it but apple isn't going to take this financial hit. It WILL be passed on to the consumer through higher prices on other items, but why should you worry about that.... You got your free bumper.

I'm just glad there are people out in the world with my line of thinking. Unfortunately there are far more with your thinking and IMHO that's what's wrong with the world.

:D

Oh yes I will be accepting my free bumper, although I don't need it, it is free and free is always good with me.

Depends. If you essentially have to sign for the case as your fix (i.e. waiving any right to some future fix for this issue via warranty support) then I'll pass.
