Deep blue 17 Pro 512gb

Same y’all… I got a white iPhone XR and using an iPhone 11 clear case on it as stores do not sell them for the XR anymore. What color is your iPhone?

Contemplating buying the natural or blue titanium iPhone 15 Pro or a purple iPhone 14 Pro Max… depending on available deals.

Someone out there is probably still using an iPhone 6/7/8 lol. More power to them. I knew someone who once rocked an iPhone 4 in 2020. I’m guessing they probably don’t do social media and play mobile games that heavily.

I saw recent pics of Gene Simmons still rocking a iPhone 7/8 Plus, even today.

Was that in the US? As far as I recall, AT&T and Verizon already dropped 3G support by then so you wouldn't even be able to use the iPhone 4 for regular calls and texts.

Yes.

Well, Verizon and AT&T didn’t shut down 3G service until 2022, so everyone who already paid for the service before the carriers started dropping 3G support would still able to get service for their 3G phones, at least until the actual shutdown.

I'm using the 16 Pro Max - (nearly) free upgrade through Verizon. I had to pay about $100 for the tax on the new iPhone.

Wife has the 17 Pro Max - we had another upgrade on our Verizon account so she went from my aging 11 Pro Max hand-me-down to the 17 Pro max. This is the first time since she got the original iPhone and I was using BlackBerries that she was the tech vanguard. Well deserved.

I'm currently on a 16 Pro Max 512GB (as noted in my sig).

Just for fun, my iPhone history looks something like this, in order, all the way back to the phone that immediately predated my induction into the iOS ecosystem:
  • Palm Treo (Uhh... the web? yeah... sure, we can do that. Wait... with inline images? Pah! What are you on about?)
  • iPhone 4 (Ahhhhhhh... Sooo much better. Wait, so I can finally stream stuff??? SWEEEEET!)
  • iPhone 5 (Nice upgrade. I wonder how much streaming it would take for Sprint to start throttling me?...)
  • iPhone 6 (Huh... I guess they're not gonna throttle me. Cool. This thing feels faster, though... that's not bad.)
  • iPhone X (First day delivery! I'm on the cutting edge for once in my life!)
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max (Huh. Looks much the same, but bigger. Cool. Cool.)
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max (Meh. Still pretty much the same.)
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max (Wife talked me into upgrading. You don't have the 256GB in stock? Sigh... What do you have?)
Strangely, my wife has had all of the exact same iPhones (but not the Treo) up until the 16 series, when she decided to opt for a 16 Plus, instead. Why? Solely because they didn't have the 16 PM in pink, and a pink case just wasn't good enough for her. (Sigh. Again.)

(As an aside, I've never actually owned an Android phone -- though I've experimented with it in emulators and with other peoples' devices enough to know that I have no interest at all in switching.)

I'm on the 15 Pro Max. It's the first time I've used a phone that's completely paid for, as most of the time I trade in at one year to get the new one. I've skipped that for two generations now so I no longer have payments on my phone. Feels good. The 15PM still does everything I want or need a phone to do for me, so I have no real need to upgrade at this time.

For my primary iPhone I switch between my 1TB Air and 1TB 17 Pro. I also like having my backup iPhone, a 13 mini, that I use for home security and other tasks . . .
