Well, after all of the old windows machines in my home went on strike, I may be spreading around my two Macs to my Mom and my sister. I've been thinking about getting a MBP 2.4GHz machine, because I want portability with a little power and speed, and the graphics to comfortably raid in WoW.

Do the current MBPs have any major issues with them, such as heat and such? Also, would the 2.4GHz MBP be overkill for WoW, or can I play competitively with a MacBook 2.4GHz white? (That's the middle of the road $1,299 one.)

either is fine for WoW truthfully. Of course the MBP will be better, but for the price, if all your playing is wow, get the MB.

i had a macbook with the gma950, and it played WoW pretty well, so im sure the x3100 is nothing worse.

How good is "well" in terms of fps?

Also, will Second Life run on a MacBook?

Getting back to my first question, does the MBP still have heating issues, or other similar problems?

I'm pretty sure the MBPs have most of the problems ironed out. I'm not sure if there are any screen issues still going around? But the cpu "whine" and the heat issues are resolved. I have a first gen MBP and I'm always at 130-145 degrees Farenheit. I can tell you that current, new MBPs run much cooler than mine.

I just bought a refurb MBP after much research. I can't speak for WoW, but there are no major problems that I uncovered. The Santa Rosa and Penryn MBPs are great machines.
