The current model of iMac 20'' (2.66Ghz) could be consider a "great" machine for domestic users?
Yup, it's great for normal use and has power for harder use. Are you thinking of buying that? If you do wait a month if new ones are coming and that specific "old" model will go down like 200$.
Do you think the new Mac's will be the same price as they are now but just the old ones will drop??
I think the entry level iMac will be gone like in MacBooks (starting at 1200 or something). Other models will be almost in same prices, but when it's about Apple we can just guess. Always the old ones price will go down because stores wants to get away from those and space for new ones. I've seen old MBs with 700e price tag (and they are in box, bot used)
Not exactly the same day but in few weeks price will drop.
Further on that, Apple tends to keep the prices similar when upgrading models, but they may drop one at the bottom.
What you can be very confident of is that existing stock of the "old" models will be priced lower immediately, although available in limited quantities.
So, if you're perfectly happy with one of the current models, buy now or but the same thing in 2-8 weeks for $100-200 less or so.
I can't wait for the new ones whenever that will be! Want a Mac so bad but now since I've waited almost a month I mine as well wait for the new ones to come out!c
