What is your overall thoughts on iPad multitasking. I just recently got an iPad Pro (from an iPad mini 2) so I've only recently started to experience it. I was really expecting to hate it and/or feel it's really wonky, mostly because I feel like that's the general sense of things. But honestly I find myself surprisingly satisfied with it. I agree that there is room for improvement, but my iPad Pro w/ Smart Keyboard is actually a really functional device for my needs. I've been traveling with it, and it's far more suited for my needs than my MacBook Air (which I intentionally left at home). Side note: I still believe that the current (outdated) MBA sold by Apple is the best Mac purchase for the typical consumer.

If you haven't already, learn and use the keyboard shortcuts. Even on a non-Pro iPad, they make the experience and multi-tasking, much nicer.

I would appreciate it when they allowed apps to run in background for a longer period of time

I rarely multitask or use split screen. I am therefore satisfied with the current state of iPad Multitasking. It's decent enough.

Multitasking is great on all iPads, but I think with the Pros (12.9" and 10.5"), they have almost twice the width of pixels so they could be adapted to show the full size iPad/iPad mini scale app on the left, and a customized view on the right. Right now they are both customized, but changing it would mean you could have any app open on the left. There is also the issue of sides, I would like to see a 1:2 split on the left. I also think the 12.9" should be capable of 3 applications, although that would get messy with resizing. The last thing is drag and drop - to be able to do this with things such as images would be great.

Maybe I'm a tradionalist but I prefer a laptop over an iPad for almost all tasks. I am forcing myself to use my 12.9 iPad Pro right with my 15 rMBP right next to me. Currently sitting in my recliner watching Game 7.

Even when my laptop was faster at things than my iPad, the iPad was way more fun to use so I would choose it over my laptop.

Currently, the only thing I prefer doing on my MacBook is taking notes for school. It's so much better for having two Evernote windows side by side and switching back and forth between different pages with multiple side by side apps. Before I went back to school, I'd go weeks at a time before using my MacBook Pro.

i think its really handy. i use it to split screen reference images while drawing or have a timer and my workouts up.
