Current XS silicone cases different from previous generation?

Ive had my silicone case for a week now since I got my iPhone Max and seems like they’ve changed the material on them. They seem to be more slippery and smooth than the previous, has anyone noticed this or am I just tripping... The silicone apple case on my older iPhone X seems to be more rubberized and have more grip.

I could be wrong but they start like that, and over time the feel changes.

My 8 silicone is identical to my wife's Xs silicone, so I doubt they changed the material.
