Since updating to Mavericks, I experience cursor placement trouble when I compose emails while replying/forwarding. It all works as long as I am writing consecutively, but once I try to position my cursor somewhere in the middle of the already-written text, the position is several spaces off. It becomes very clear when spell-check tries to underline a misspelled word (it's always one or two words to the left of the actual word). It's very confusing. I read that people with Google Apps have the same problem, but I am not using that. It's a regular mail-server-based account on my personal website (pop).

Any help is very much appreciated, since it drives me nuts. Thank you!

Cursor Misalignment in Mac Mail

I've been having the same problem off and on. Today it is back on. If I reposition my cursor it appears 15 or so characters to the left of where it actually types. I didn't see anything about it in the Apple support pages.

I'm seeing the same thing. But just in certain circumstances, such as when filling out a text field online... happened this morning when I sent a URL to Twitter.

I solved the problem yesterday by cleaning my font cache, then restarting. Seemed to help until it happened again this morning. So far it's an intermittent problem but I'm keeping an eye out for it, and for a solution.

Running 10.9.1 on a 15" Retina MacBook Pro.
