For some reason when I get a small picture to put as icon, say for my digital camera, and I save it as a GIF so it'll have a transparent background, it always puts a black background on it. How do I go about having a transparent background for an icon? I've seen them done on the desktop threads in the Pictures section.

Try Pic2Icon
All you do is drag it in there, and it makes the icon with no black background. You can also drag in a whole folder of images, it is great!
