Hello, I have a one year old iMac that I use for Music production. I am frequently switching between my built in speakers and my loud ass monitors.
I would like to do this with one Shortcut if possible.

This is the Option I want to switch.

There is a really easy way to switch between Sound connected devices by hosing down the 'Option' key while clicking on the Finder sound icon. Then you will be able to change input/output connected devices.

Good morning,

I used to have this issue, but my need was switching between my monitor speakers and my studio headphones.

Whilst I found a keyboard shortcut worked, I also found a neat little program that sits in your menu bar that let's you completely control your Mac's audio in and out; whilst it requires using the menu bar to access it, that's not to say the developer won't add keyboard shortcut support.

It's called SoundSource. Here's a link if you'd like to take a look — as a user of it, I can recommend it. ;)
