Hey,

Some days ago I saw this cool custom lockscreen

Simple Sections Lockscreen HD
by ~mik3j

but I haven't yet installed it nor Winterboard, because I have heard/seen that themed iPhones become slower.

Now I discovered that the lockscreen (and more things) can be customized replacing files using SSH (rather than using Winterboard), so the phone becoming slower doesn't bother me anymore.

Now my question is, how do the other screens look like after applying "lockscreen themes"?? Specifically the Calling screens and the lockscreen with iPod controls?? For this theme you have to install "Lockscreen Clock Hide", so I'm curious about what will happen with these controls that normally appear below the clock.

Thanks and happy new year ;)

The short answer is nothing. Nothing will happen to those other controls. They will function as they did before, unaffected by your mod. (Unless you do something not easily undone while you're working with you're phones file system, but nevermind... you'll be fine. Probably. ;)

An advantage to using winterboard to activate your mod is that it can be undone quickly and easily without having to navigate to different folders and replace/rename files. I doubt you would even notice any difference with winterboad installed.

But where will those controls be displayed when the clock has been hidden? just below the status bar, in the same position or what?

No offense intended, OP, but for the love of God and everything holy, JUST INSTALL WINTERBOARD. All these people that complain about it are just blowing hot air...that's it.

Especially if you've got an iPhone 4, you won't see much, if any difference in performance OR battery life. If anyone tells you otherwise, they're either making it up or had a bad experience a LONG time ago.

I'm still on a 3GS and WinterBoard has NEVER drained my battery, slowed my phone, or caused any problems whatsoever. It just works and that's all you need to know. I'm just sick and tired of people dogging it because they THINK they had a bad experience with it before.

It's simple, it's easy to make changes on the fly, and it works flawlessly. Again, anyone that tell you different is just lying.

Here's a screen capture of mine.
I have lockscreen clock hid installed. I was surprised to see that the clock appears with the ipod controls when the screen is locked. (I also have my unlock sliders hidden).
