Custom SMS Sounds not Playing on iPhone

I have created custom sms sounds for my iPhone (converted them to aiff and changed extension to caf) and SSHed them over to /System/blah blah/right location and replaced sms-received6.caf. However when I try to select the new sound in settings the phone locks up and doesn't play any sound.

Yes, I have restarted the phone after loading the sound. Any ideas?

How long is the sound file, and if the sound file is from iTunes it doesn't work

The file is 2 seconds long and was converted with QuickTime (which has worked before)

I converted 6 mp3's to aiff, then changed extension to caf, SSH'ed all into my iPhone and everyone works (they are just a little to loud, might redo them and cut volume back)
