Hi everybody !
I'm the developer of the iEmpty iPhone webapp, perhaps you already know or use it (?) : http://iempty.tooliphone.net
The goal was to add a little iDevice customization by adding invisible icons on the home screen, allowing you to put your apps icons where you want on the springboard, like this :
The trick was good for iOS3.x, but iOS4 brings custom home screen image, and the icons added by iEmpty became black... because of an Apple restriction that forbids the transparency in icons added to home screen, changing it to black
Today, as it is used by many users all over the world
, I'm trying to make improvements on iEmpty.
The first step is to propose sets of icons reproducing exactly the background of the iOS folders, so it is now possible to add "invisible" icons on your iOS folders. You just have to choose the right icons corresponding to your iDevice, iOS version, and the position where it will be on the folder.
Here is the result you can have :
Note that again Apple adds some effects on the icons (drop shadow at the bottom and rounded corners), so they are a little visible...
I made tests with my iPhone 4, but I didn't had the possibility to make tests with other iDevices, like iPhone 3G, iPod touchs, etc... It is important for me to see if the icons "match" with the folder background, because the screen resolution is not the same on all devices.
Adding all possible icons on the folder, you should have a result like that :
So if you can test my app on you iDevice, making this test, you'll make me very happy

The procedure to follow :
- Go to the iEmpty website
- Choose "Customize"
- Choose "Folder (beta)"
- Choose your iDevice / iOS combo
- Choose the icon position and add it to your home screen at the same location (follow instructions in the help section at the end of each page of the website)
- Do it again for each possible icon position
- Tell me the results (perhaps you can post a screenshot here ?)
Thank you very much in advance for your help !
Don't hesitate to ask me if you have problems or questions.
See you soon
PS : sorry for possible english mistakes... but I'm french !
